The Public Relations (PR) goals of TDL are to promote:
- a good understanding of TDL’s objectives and services among governing officials, civic leaders, and the general public.
- active participation in the varied services offered by TDL to people of all ages.
The Director shall be expected to make presentations and to participate in community activities to promote library services. Materials to be used by press, radio, or television shall be reviewed by the Director and/or the Board President.
The Board shall maintain a publications budget to cover costs related to printing, supplies, and miscellaneous needs related to the public relations efforts.
PHOTO PERMISSION
TDL staff shall obtain the written consent of people whose photographs are taken for promotional purposes in any form including, but not limited to, social media, advertising, brochures, posters, catalogs or other publications, and TDL’s Website.
In the case of minors, the written permission of a parent or legal guardian must be obtained.
This procedure applies to photographing single individuals and to photographing small groups of individuals. Large groups of people (5 or more) at public library events are exempt from this policy.
