Tamarack District Library (TDL) renders a public service which concurs with the mission statement of the American Library Association found at ala.org and is funded according to the TDL agreement and Library of Michigan District Library Law.

TDL is a cornerstone to the community and a legacy to each generation.  We believe these principles must be guaranteed therefore we:

  • defend the constitutional rights of individuals, including but not limited to minors to use TDL’s resources and services.
  • value our nation’s diversity and strive to reflect that diversity by providing a full spectrum of resources and services to the communities we serve.
  • protect each individual’s privacy and confidentiality in the use of library resources and services in accordance to applicable laws.
  • celebrate and preserve our democratic society by making available the widest range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas.
  • value and protect freedom of speech.
